Surface Water Treatment Workshop, 1.2 CEU (WTER 1202)

This two-day workshop is a designed to acquaint municipal and community operators with the basic principles of treating surface water from dugouts, reservoirs and rivers for human consumption. This workshop is particularly useful for those who have had limited training and experience and for those who wish to refresh their knowledge of the complexities of surface water treatment and plant operation. Students will participate in a lab session and perform the “Modified Jar Test” used to gauge the effectiveness of the coagulation/flocculation process. This workshop is also a valuable learning experience for municipal officials who oversee the operation and maintenance of surface water treatment facilities.
