Overhead Crane Operation (HEOP 1801)

You will learn the theoretical and practical application of the OTC (Overhead Traveling Crane). Training emphasizes on practical and safetyoriented components of crane operation and rigging. Rigging is the safe use of hardware such as slings, shackles, eyebolts, chain hoists and comea- longs in lifting operations. Upon completion of all learning outcomes, you will obtain a certificate stating you are a competent operator of up to (but not including) 50 tonne Overhead Travelling Crane according to OH&S regulations. SIAST also offers this course at dates and times suitable for employers’ training staff.

This course will be delivered when the minimum number of students has been reached. To place your name on the interest list or for more information, call (306) 659-4102. You will be contacted when the interest list has a sufficient number of people. Please bring safety approved eye protection, work gloves, work boots, calculator and tape measure
