Health Care Law and Ethics (HINF 262)

You will become familiar with health law (especially as it pertains to health information) and the issues associated with the privacy, confidentiality and security of health information. You will identify appropriate ethical conduct in pursuing your professional role and gain an overview of legislation relating to health care and health information. You will be able to design policies related to confidentiality, privacy, security and participate in risk management activities.

This course uses an asynchronous tool, allowing online access to course material at a time that is convenient to the student.

Prerequisites: Theories and Concepts of Health Information Management (Concurrent), (concurrent)
