With your HTML knowledge, you have a solid foundation for working with markup languages. However, unlike HTML, XML is more flexible, allowing you to create custom tags to store and share data across different systems. In this course you be introduced to the fundamentals of XML and its related technologies so that you can create your own markup documents.
This course is for web developers using non-XML tools such as Flash, HTML, ColdFusion and Java, who now want to incorporate XML technology, and desktop publishers wanting to migrate to an XML-based publishing solution. Self-taught XML developers who want to use XML efficiently.

Prerequisites: Familiar with Window. Experience with a markup language such as HTML or SGML (Web Design with XHTML, HTML and CSS: Level 1) is helpful but not required.
