Bookkeeping for Small Business Part 2 - Doing Your Own Payroll and Understanding Taxes (BKPG 1601)
Are you a small business owner who needs information about you
responsibilities as an employer? Topics range from calculation of gross and
net pay (TD1), credit reports and assessing credit risk, collecting outstanding
accounts, calculating commissions and eligible expenses (T2200, T777,
TD1X), and preparing compliance reports (T4 Summary, WCB Return) to
labour standards and occupational health and safety. There will also be a
demonstration of the payroll modules of popular software accounting
programs (QuickBooks and Simply Accounting). You will practice the
concepts through a sample case that will be built throughout the class.
