Standardized Computer Curriculum
The Standardized Computer Curriculum includes courses that deal with application software (word processing, spreadsheets, database management systems, operating systems, and presentation software). These multi-program credit courses are delivered on a SIAST-wide basis. The courses are written for the Windows version of Office only. If you are using a Mac computer, there is an option available that will allow you to connect to SIAST Windows servers and use the Windows version of Office. If you require this option, please email: gardiner@siast.sk.ca for instructions.
These courses use an asynchronous tool, allowing online access to course material at a time that is convenient to the student.
Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) and transfer credit may be options for receiving credit. For further information see the PLAR page or the transfer credit page.
Introduction to Microsoft Excel I (COMP 174)
You will study the basic features of Excel. You will learn to format spreadsheet elements, create simple charts and use simple formulas and functions.
Up-to-date Windows computer and browser with Microsoft Access (2007 or 2010 version) required
