Teaching and Facilitating Adults

Adult Education Diploma from St. Francis Xavier University.

SIAST is proud to support St. Francis Xavier University in the delivery of its Diploma in Adult Education, which stresses practical, hands-on skill development for adult educators, trainers, HR consultants and others working in related capacities. The program consists of six modules, Modules 1 to 5 are classroom based and consist of a three-day workshop and formal assignment. Module 6 is a practicum, completed at a distance. This format offers maximum accessibility and flexibility to learn while you earn.

Module 1 - Needs Assessment (AE311)

You will learn how to plan a comprehensive needs assessment strategy, how to design questions or questionnaires and interviews and how to conduct a focus-group.

Module 2 - Learning Objectives (AE312)

You will analyze the conditions needed for effective learning, discuss ways of measuring learning and learn the technical relationship between learning objectives and learning design.

You will examine the unique characteristics of adult learners, identify learning styles, select appropriate learning strategies and practice how to integrate these in a learning plan that is consistent with the principles of adult education.
