Business Financial Services
For students who have completed the Business certificate program or first year Business at SIAST Palliser Campus, the Business Financial Services diploma program provides training that meets the needs of the financial market as requested by the Provincial Bankers’ Association and the Institute of Canadian Bankers.
As banks increase the scope of services they offer to customers, the banking industry has determined that bank employees need to have skills that enable them to work effectively in a wide range of functions. As part of the course requirements, you must register with the Institute of Canadian Bankers (ICB) and purchase the specified textbooks supplied by the ICB for the corresponding SIAST-offered courses. You will receive assistance from SIAST with the process of registration with ICB and your textbook purchase. We also encourage you to enrol in the Canadian Securities Course (which has an additional tuition cost).
Selected courses for this program are available through distance and/or continuing education course offerings. The program is available full-time at SIAST Palliser Campus in Moose Jaw. For complete program information, check the program page.
Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) and transfer credit may be options for receiving credit. For further information see the PLAR candidate guide (pdf) or the transfer credit page.
