The Four “Musts” of Supervision

Supervisors must believe that 99% of the people want to do a good job. Supervisors must ensure that what they believe team members’ jobs to be and what team members believe their jobs to be are the same.

Supervisors must know how team members are doing their jobs.

Supervisors must help them do it.

Studies show that the biggest factor in worker’s performance is the quality of their immediate supervisor. The four “musts” form the basis for Leadership Skills for Front Line Managers which provides essential information that everyone who leads and supervises others must know to contribute to organizational performance. Each two-day module provides the practical without neglecting basic theory. Both new or potential supervisors, as well as those with experience who would like to refresh their skills, will find the program improves their leadership skills as supervisors. Over 11,000 supervisors in Saskatchewan have benefited from attending this program over the last 30 years. To fit into your busy schedule, all four modules are offered at SIAST Kelsey Campus throughout the year.
