Pesticide Applicator and Dispenser Re-Certification

Below is the information required to register for the Pesticide Applicator and Dispenser Recertification course. This registration information is only for pesticide applicators and dispenser who have completed a pesticide applicator training course within the previous five year period.

Recertification Registration Information


On-Farm Fumigation Pesticide Applicator Re-Certification (PEST 276)

This course focuses on the use of fumigants on the farm. Farmers will learn how to use fumigants to control insects in stored grain as well as ground squirrels on their farms.  

Required manuals: Core (Safety & Legislation), 2009 and On-Farm Fumigation, 2007.

You will study the application of pest control products to forest land, rights of way, water bodies, agricultural and non-agricultural lands. Applicants for the aerial license must hold a commercial pilot’s license and be insurable.

Agriculture Pesticide Applicator Re-Certification (PEST 267)

Your studies will focus on pest control products as part of primary agricultural production for the control of weeds, insects and diseases. Course content includes on-farm seed treatment, rodent control and weed control in farm ponds, dugouts and shelterbelts (e.g., custom applicators spraying crops).

Required manuals: Core (Safety & Legislation), 2009 and Agriculture, 2001.

Aquatic Vegetation Pesticide Applicator Re-Certification (PEST 268)

You will study the application of herbicides for vegetation control in standing or running water, or areas left exposed during periods of low water (e.g., weed control in irrigation canals).

Commercial Seed Treatment Pesticide Applicator Re-Certification (PEST 275)

You will learn how to use seed treatment products in commercial seed treatment operations (e.g., seed cleaning plants and commercial seed treatment plants).

Fumigation Pesticide Applicator Re-Certification (PEST 269)

You will learn how to use fumigants for soil fumigation or to control pests of stored products in buildings, grain bins and elevators, rail cars, trucks and containers (e.g., fumigation of flour mills or grain storage facilities).

Greenhouse Pesticide Applicator Re-Certification (PEST 270)

This course focuses on how to use pest control products to control weeds, insects, diseases and other pests in or immediately around greenhouses during crop production, display or storage. Course content includes pest control on plants in occupied buildings.

Industrial Vegetation Pesticide Applicator Re-Certiciation (PEST 271)

Your studies will focus on using herbicides for vegetation control in industrial areas, rights of way, parking lots, well sites and equipment yards.

Landscape Pesticide Applicator Re-Certification (PEST 272)

You will learn how to use pest control to protect ornamental plants and turf on residential, commercial and public lands, in plant nurseries and for Dutch Elm Disease control (e.g., yard care service, park or golf course maintenance).

You will focus on using insecticides to control larvae and adult mosquitoes and other biting flies (e.g. Mosquito or black fly control programs).

Rat Control Pesticide Applicator Re-Certification (PEST 277)

You will learn how to use rodenticides as part of an integrated program for the control of rats and mice (e.g., municipal pest control officers).

This course focuses on the use of fumigants on the farm. Farmers will learn how to use fumigants to control insects in stored grain as well as ground squirrels on their farms.
