This course will appeal to those involved in the application, enforcement, sales, installation and testing of backflow preventers. The first part of the course deals with the principles of cross connections, application of devices and current regulations and bylaws. The balance of time is dedicated to hands-on testing in our Cross Connection Control Manual (75% required for successful completion).

This one-day workshop will allow participants to gain a better understanding of cross connections and backflow conditions that can occur in distribution systems. Methods and devices available for protection will also be discussed. This understanding will help to protect owners, technicians and operator of buildings, laboratories and power/heating/cooling plants from litigations resulting from operating facilities in an illegal and/or unsafe manner.

This online course is designed for individuals who operate a small wastewater collection and treatment system. The course will introduce the individual to lagoon operation and maintenance, pumps, and sewage collection system components.    

The Saskatchewan Small Systems Certification exam is not included as part of this course.  Operators seeking to write the certification exam need to contact their local regional college or any SIAST campus.  

 

Computer experience using a Windows application is recommended

This online course is designed for individuals who operate a small water treatment and distribution system. The course will introduce the individual to the basics of groundwater treatment, disinfection, water testing, pumps, and distribution system components.  

The Saskatchewan Small Systems Certification exam is not included as part of this course.  Operators seeking to write the certification exam need to contact their local regional college or any SIAST campus.
