Keyboarding - Introductory (TYPG 1600)
Learn the lifelong skill of “touch keyboarding” (not looking at the keys) to increase your efficiency when entering alphabetic text. This course is ideal for beginners or people with rusty keyboarding skills. By the end of the course, you may achieve a touch keyboarding rate of 20–25 words per minute based on three or five minute timings and upon the amount of time that you practice.
Textbook will be loaned to student and must be returned at the end of course

Computers for Beginners in Prince Albert (COAP 1414)

Computer terminology will be covered and the Microsoft Office Package will be used to explore the use of a word processor and a spreadsheet. You will learn many practical uses for your computer. Students interested in this class should have very little or no previous computer experience.

Keyboarding and Speed Building - Advanced (TYPG 1601)
You will review the skill of “touch keyboarding” while increasing your
speed and improving your accuracy. You may achieve a touch keyboarding
rate of 25 – 50 words per minute depending upon your previous skill level
and the amount of time that you practice. At the end of the course, you will
receive a certificate stating your keyboarding speed in words per minute.
Textbook will be loaned to student and must be returned at the end
of course

PC Basics in Regina (COAP 1717)
This course will introduce you to basic computer concepts such as hardware and software, the Internet, sharing and storing photos and web email. You will learn how to download files and have fun playing computer games. We recommend that when you finish this course that you consider registering for Windows to learn more of your computer’s features. You will recieve a manual for your future reference.

Social Media 101 (COAP 1863)
Want to find out what the buzz is about? Join us for a fun and interactive introduction to basic social media principles and technologies including Facebook, RSS readers, iTunesU and podcasts, Flickr and an introduction to blogging. Participants should have at least basic knowledge of using computers and comfort with using the Internet.

Windows 7 (COAP 1697)
This course will help you to learn the many features of Windows 7 so you will be comfortable navigating and using your Mouse. The Windows file management system is covered along with other standard Windows Applications such as Adding and Removing programs. You will also learn the new AERO features in Windows 7 and have fun turning photos into movie clips using Moviemaker. Hands on exercises during class will allow you to practice these skills and the reference manual will help you to use these features when the workshop ends.
