AgExpert Analyst, Level 1 (COAP 1739)

This 12 hour, hands-on course is designed to enable you to set up and use a complete set of farm books with the AgExpert Analyst software. You will develop a set of farm books, enter financial and inventory transactions, print reports for management purposes (cash/accrual) and print reports for regulatory reporting (government program participation).

Prerequisites: Basic computer and bookkeeping skills

AgExpert Analyst, Level 2 (COAP 1740)

This 6 hour, hands-on course is designed to enable you to take advantage of enhanced features in AgExpert Analyst software. You will generate and analyze various reports and tools to support the farm management process, learn to ensure the integrity of data reported from the database to government programs, identify program features to use in your operation and establish a plan for further skills enhancement.

Prerequisites: AgExpert Analyst, Level 1, Good understanding of AgExpert software or

QuickBooks for Windows (COAP 1700)

Learn to use QuickBooks to manage your accounting transactions. Create a set of company books including customers, vendors, payroll, inventory and sales records. Learn to enter, modify and delete transactions. Find out how to use the software to prepare a bank statement reconciliation, income statements, balance sheets as well as reports on sales, accounts receivable and accounts payable and backup your records. A working knowledge of accounting principles will enhance your learning experience. Practical exercises during class will provide an opportunity for you to use these features. Simply Accounting 2012 Level 1 and Level 2 (COAP 1836)

This course starts with the fundamentals and provides you with the knowledge to set up a company’s books and using the Receivables and Payables modules in Simply Accounting. You will also learn bookkeeping processes for a service business, customize a company’s chart of accounts, prepare sales taxes, sales invoices, customer payments, bills and expenses and produce multiple financial and other reports. In the second half of the course you will expand your knowledge by customizing various forms to save a business money, use inventory, complete month-end tasks of reporting sales taxes and account reconciliation and more. Hands-on exercises during class will allow you to practice these skills. You will receive a manual for future reference. Registered students have access to a Simply Accounting software download and also have the option of challenging the sage Simply Accounting Application Specialist Certification exam for free!
