Transfer Credit

Many SIAST students benefit from transferring credit.

Transfer Credit is the acknowledgement of formal learning from an institution  approved by the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC) towards credential at another recognized institution.

Transfer credit options vary over time; this information is subject to change.

Find out if you can benefit from transferring credit:

1. Are you coming to SIAST with credits you want SIAST to recognize?

2. Do you want to transfer your SIAST credits?

4. Are you a University of Regina or University of Saskatchewan student who needs the flexible learning options of SIAST courses?
   Find out how you can apply SIAST courses to your university program:

   This option allows you, as a Saskatchewan post-secondary student, the flexibility to complete your program in a way that best meets your needs. Students in programs at either the University of Regina or the University of Saskatchewan can take some courses toward the program through SIAST if they are offered in a preferred alternate format. Alternate formats involve various evening, off-site and distance course deliveries. There is no charge, and no transcript fee for returning course results to the home institution. U of R and U of S students simply review and complete the Visiting Student Application and Course Approval Form and Guide (pdf) and submit it to their home institution.

If you do not qualify for transfer credit, but you have experiential learning or informal training, Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) may be an option.

Transfer credits for students enrolled in SIAST Basic Education are not covered within this policy. If you are a Basic Education student, you can obtain more information from your program head or counsellor.
