Transfer Credit

Many SIAST students benefit from transferring credit.

Transfer Credit is the acknowledgement of formal learning from an institution  approved by the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials (CICIC) towards credential at another recognized institution.

Transfer credit options vary over time; this information is subject to change.

Find out if you can benefit from transferring credit:

Check the transfer credits recognized by SIAST
Apply using the Transfer Credit Request Form (pdf)

For SIAST transfer credit guidelines, please review SIAST policy A-1.2 (pdf), Recognition of Prior Learning: PLAR and Transfer Credit

If you do not qualify for transfer credit, but you have experiential learning or informal training, Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) may be an option.

Transfer credits for students enrolled in SIAST Basic Education are not covered within this policy. If you are a Basic Education student, you can obtain more information from your program head or counsellor.
